Serenity Whitelow, 11, has dreamed the dream, now she needs a little help making it a reality.
The Crosby Park fifth grader won the Martin Luther King Jr. Remembrance Day essay contest for elementary school students with the theme “Serving our Planet Through Environmental Action”. The thesis of her essay was “ taking care of our planet is one of the most important ways to serve our community.”
She intends to put that dream into action later this month with a cleanup day. Whitelow is asking volunteers to join her April 26 to help clean up the neighborhoods and parks in the Crosby Park area.
