PTA Reflections

Lawton Public Schools (LPS) had several students take home state-level awards from this year’s PTA Reflections competition!

Dana Moore, principal at Edison Elementary and Reflections coordinator, offers a brief description of the competition.

“Reflections is a Parent Teacher Association sponsored youth arts program,” Moore said. “It is open to students in Pre-K thru 12th grade.”

Each year, the national PTA announces a theme for the competition year, with which competitors must align their content. This year’s theme was “I will change the world by…” Content was submitted in the following categories: visual arts, literature, photography, dance choreography, film production, and music composition.

“Reflections is a wonderful way for students to celebrate their individuality and creativity,” Moore said.

These students have won awards at the state level and will continue to the national competition with their submissions.
