I absolutely LOVE being a high school counselor and a Highlander! My family is full of MacArthur graduates. My brother, sister and I all graduated here…. Along with 13 other members of the Jackson family!

I am starting my 17 th year with Lawton Public Schools after six years in the classroom teaching science. I have coached softball, basketball, cheer, and golf during that time. I spent seven years at MacArthur Middle School as the 8th grade counselor before moving up to MacArthur High School as a counselor. I graduated from Cameron University with a Bachelor of Science degree and from East Central University with a Master of Education degree.

I have been married to my husband Shawn, a Lawton Fireman, for 12 years and we have two amazing children-- Lexy is 6 and Jax is 4. I love spending time with my family and friends and watching sporting events. I love attending  OU football games… Boomer!  Email

Once a Highlander always a Highlander! It is an honor to serve the students of MacArthur High School, my alma mater. I graduated from Cameron University with a Bachelor of Science degree and from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Masters of Education in School Counseling. I have worked for Lawton Public Schools for 11 years in various roles. I began my career as a middle school coach and Special Education teacher. My counseling career began at MacArthur Middle School as the 8 th grade counselor. My family is my pride and joy. My husband Rafael Santos, two sons Alec and Joshua, and my daughter Hannah. We believe in serving our community as a family through our church, Lawton Kiwanis, Key Club, Great Plains Special Olympics, Teen Court, and the Lawton Public Schools Foundation. We love the Highlanders and are Lawton Proud.  Email

I am very excited to be working with our Highlanders this year! This is my 22nd year with Lawton Public Schools. I was previously a teacher at Sheridan Road Elementary on Fort Sill for 8 years, and then a counselor at MacArthur Middle School for 13 years. I graduated from Cameron University with my Bachelor of Science in elementary education. After teaching for a few years, I pursued my master’s degree in counseling from East Central University and graduated with a Master of Education in counseling K-12. I then began working on becoming a National Board Certified Teacher and received that certification 12 years ago as a Middle Childhood Generalist. I renewed my National Board Certification in counseling a few years ago. I was born and raised in the Lawton/Ft. Sill area. I graduated high school from Elgin and grew up out by the Wichita Mountains. I have a son, Cooper, who is going to be a junior this year at Mac. My family attends First Presbyterian Church in Lawton, and we are active members. I enjoy working as a counselor and am eager to work with your children this year. Email
