The Open Doors program took a several students enrolled in the program to OSU and Langston University. The students were told to arrive at Cameron University at 7 o’clock in the morning. They left Cameron at around 7:15. The trip included watching a Cowgirls basketball game, touring the OSU campus, and touring the Langston campus.
For many of the students this was a way to see one of the few colleges they are interested in attending. Being able to see the Cowgirls play made some students think that they would love to be part of the team when they graduate from high school.
Being able to see the life of a small college and how close all the people are made many of the students think about Langston. Going on these trips opens the minds of the students and shows them what other colleges have to offer and what they might like.
